SO not worth it to stand awkwardly in the corner in a dress (my school was very uptight and didn't let girls wear suits or boys wear dresses. They tried to force a trans student - biologically female but identifying and presenting as male - to wear something more feminine. When he fiercely protested against wearing a dress, they offered a "compromise" of a T-shirt and skirt. Hoo boy, the LGBT group were NOT happy with that! Rightly so. He got to wear a suit in the end). I spent the money on ingredients for veggie lasagne and a movie instead and had a delicious meal in front of a cheesy horror movie. Good times. I think everyone has a different view. It could be fun, and you can hang with friends and dance!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7627535531432337588.post-19731294567501181482016-07-28T20:21:31.323+01:002016-07-28T20:21:31.323+01:00Many experiences in life can be valuable beyond th...Many experiences in life can be valuable beyond the immediate emotional takeaways of the moment. Sometimes challenging even forcing yourself to do things that might seem uncomfortable or even boring can yield gains in other areas of pursuit. Prom will undoubtedly go down in her life as one of the most forgettable moments she could have experienced. Training yourself to plow through events / obligations that are not "required" but might yield ancillary benefits one has not considered. Let's say you don't want to go to a company picnic, but you do anyway. Your attendance could be noted by higher ups and you could be seen as more a team player. There are a million scenarios like this, and they do add up in life. I didn't go to the main prom anyway because I had not been to school for a while so i would feel too self conscious! I would like a prom if it was smaller and with my own friends and music I like and not having to wear a fancy dress!! lyricalwren https://www.blogger.com/profile/12630691223992227997noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7627535531432337588.post-41054190059949062342016-07-28T08:28:00.844+01:002016-07-28T08:28:00.844+01:00I'm glad Tara knows what prom is actually like...I'm glad Tara knows what prom is actually like! I feel the exact same about it - in our school, however, the ticket price is much worser - 32 pounds!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11861599493565607122noreply@blogger.com
